I'm surprised at some of the reviews for this place because I actually really enjoy it. However, I have never actually been inside this restaurant, so my review is solely based on delivery. I love Cuban food and when I discovered a Cuban restaurant that delivered to my house, I was ecstatic. I probably order from here at least once a week. The menu is pretty typical for a Cuban restaurant; they aren't trying to be fancy or add a new spin to the dishes (which is fine by me). I usually stick to the same dishes, but everything I've ordered I've enjoyed. My favorite is the bistec empanizado (breaded steak), but the breaded chicken, churrasco, and lechon asado are also good. Their black beans are pretty good, and the tostones, maduros, yuca, and malanga are all good as well. The best part about this place is their delivery time. They always arrive in the time they tell me on the phone, and sometimes even before!

First time ordering take out on a Sunday night ..... My order was taken promptly over the phone and within 20 minutes food was ready. When we arrived home we were disgusted. What appears to be mold in my child's grilled chicken. I called twice to only be placed on hold for a long time. My food was cold and I had to reheat. As I bit into my skirt steak it was bland and the plantains were over fried and to make ayers worse in old grease. The taste was nasty. Never again. Photos attached. The portions were small for the price by the way. If you want authentic Cuban food visit rinconcito in Hialeah or casavana for good portions, fresh food and hot meals when it arrives home.

Food is always great. Prices are responsible. As close as you can get to home cooking. I had the beef baca frita and my husband had ckicken baca frita . Both excellent.

Okay my friends, if you like Cuban food, skip Varsailles and come here. You can get really good Cuban food from your grandma (if she's a Cubanita) or you could come to this wonderful establishment. Their fried breaded chicken is outstanding, covered with onions and cooked to perfection. OMG - so yummo! Their plantains are out of this world, similar to what you would get at home and so are their other side dishes! Superb! Their congris is absolutely amazing good to mix with your protein if you like that. Outstanding! There is ample parking in the shopping center, you could jet out to Publix next-door or CVS if you need some Tums! The food is so tasty here, it's hard to listen to your brain telling you to stop - it's THAT good! They have a live band at night sometimes, the staff is very friendly and the price is really good! Don't even think about it - if you want traditional Cuban food, you've come to the right place! Bon appetite!

Place is horrible. Ordered lechon asado which was full of fat. I returned plate and waitress argued the fact and didn't even take off bill. Will never ever return. When it comes to Cuban food stay away from these wannabe spots. Only go to the known, Sergios, LA caretta, Isla canarias.

First time ordering delivery, lady on the phone was laughing having fun to really listen to my order, they forgot a side i ordered and paid for, called back as soon as we received our food, was put on hold for a few minutes the lady said she would have someone bring my side. 30 minutes later nothing. If i ever do receive my side, god knows what they did to it since we called. Thank you for old chicken and tasteless food . So definitely NEVER eating or oredering from this "cuban" restaurant.

I frequent Cuban Restaurants more than any other and I must say that this one here was one of the most amazing ones. Deeee LishhhhOus. Although the last waitress who took care of me really lacked in customer service and was really slow, I can't let that affect my rating because in all honesty, the place is really nice, the food is delicious and other than that one waitress, I've always had the best treatment and attention by their staff. Maybe she was a little overwhelmed that day. I must admit it was pretty darn busy so I'm sure she was a bit stressed.

I use to be a regular here and the food was excellent. They apparently have changed management with a new menu. I went for lunch the other day and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The chicken was overcooked and dry, just gross. On top of that there was flies and mosquitos at our table and when we told the waiter he did nothing to accommodate for that. I'll never go here again. Shitty establishment

I ordered food today for delivery from Ciboney...To say the least, I'm very disappointed. I spent 45 dollars on fake Cuban food. Being Cuban, I know exactly what my culture is suppose to bring to the table, non of that happened with this delivery. My food arrived cold, mind you, they didn't take long to deliver it...makes me wonder. I can only assume my food was extremely pre made. Fresh food doesn't exist here. The croquets are frozen ones. Horrible!! All the food tasted the same. No seasoning what so ever!!! Other reviews spoke about the high salt content, and I'm over here wondering if they forgot the salt. Weird!! I ordered the Vaca Frita and Ropa Veija, I swear non of the two add any taste what so ever besides typical beef...nothing special. The black beans had no flavor either, NADA!! Last but not least, I ordered a Mamey Shake and a Tres Leche....the Mamey Shake was also from frozen pre made crap, and the Tres Leche was store bought rather than home made. I'll never order from them again...

Awful service. A group of us arrived for a Cuban breakfast and we were the only ones there. Took 40 min to get coffee, and when they brought out food in large trays they left it there without serving. After 5 more minutes with no one else showing up, I got up and started serving myself. Of course it was cold. Stay away!!!

I've heard people raving about this place and always see the delivery cars all over the place so I decided to order delivery from here as I moved near the area about a year ago. I ordered a churrasco and I got a palomilla. At this point the delivery guy was gone and I had waited over an hour for the food so I felt there was no point in waiting another hour for them to re deliver it. Another time I ordered a churrasco hoping I would get it this time which I did and a pollo a la plancha. After waiting over an hour instead of the pollo a la plancha I got a chicken full of fat with bones in it. The churrasco was mediocre at best. That was my last straw. Maybe the experience is better going to the actual restaurant but I won't take my chances. Ill stick to Latin America instead.

Good Cuban food. I love the fact the deliver and don't take too long. The best part is that dishes are not salty, not greasy with not a lot so seasoning, it's just right. Highly recommend this place

I always order delivery for there beef vaca Frita.... But each time I order it takes over an hour to deliver and I usually have to call so they can locAte the driver ! Maybe hire new drivers ?

This place is amazing! Everything that I have tried has been extremely good from pasta to arroz con pollo. I have NEVER ordered delivery from this place. I have heard mixed reviews of the delay time, so to prevent that I usually just pick up the food myself. Ciboney has one of the most best churassco. It is huge, juicy with flavor plus there chimichuri sauce is really good. I have tried there lunch special which are very good. There garbanzo and chicharros are delicious. There pasta is really good. I order the spaghetti ciboney which is pasta with tomato basil sauce on top of diced chorizo. It was extremely tasty. There arroz con pollo is by far the best I tried in a Cuban restaurant. They make it fresh, that's why they need a 2 hour time to make it. It's a good portion that can feed two or three people. Overall, I enjoy eating at ciboney!

Terrible. We went in for two croquettas and Cuban toast. How can you mess that up? The croquettas were dark brown inside, only they know why?!? Gross. And the Cuban bread wasn't toasted and they had put so much butter on it that I had to scrap it off. Very disappointing.

Excellent food and excellent service. People are incredibly helpful and best of all willing to work with large parties. Drinks are a bit too strong for my taste but then again I'm considered the "lightweight" amongst my friends. Food is properly seasoned and not overpowering and very authentic, come and enjoy some fresh Cuban food.

I want you guys to keep in mind this review is solely on delivery. I've ordered from them now several times and I have yet to be disappointed. I have ordered several dishes, such as Grilled Chicken with Boiled Yuca and Salad and other dishes like Flank Skirt Steak with Black Beans & Rice and Fried Plantains. I can't speak for some of the other reviews on their inconsistency when it comes to their delivery or take out, I can tell you that my food is always been delivered on time based on their ETA, the food has been hot or warm, and they haven't lacked on flavor. If you want authentic Cuban food I'm a firm believer you have to make it at home, being Hispanic I have only been to two restaurants in South Florida that I can say serve authentic Cuban food, everything else I wouldn't say is a cheap imitation, but only a valiant effort, Cibony provides you with a valiant effort. While it's very hard to mess up grilled chicken, there yuca has good taste with there onions and mojo and there black beans and rice I am sure are canned then treated with an array of species to give it substance and flavor. Like I said not authentic, but if your not Hispanic, you're going to be fooled. I've always ordered my steak medium and that's the way it's come, they add Chimichurri sauce on or on the side upon request served with black beans and rice or Moro which is surprisingly good. You can also try there Vaca Frita which is tender yet crisp to the bite along with there Fried Tostones and a Tamale as well. Tamale is boiled in the leaf with onions and pork in the center. You also cannot complain about the prices, dinner for two, with soda and a small appetizer is about $35 - $40 plus tip. The location is right around the corner from my house so it's very convenient when the wifey doesn't want to cook and we want some food native food to satisfy the pallet. I will provide a more detailed and thorough review on eating in next time around...

Horrible service like I have never seen before. They charged my card twice and I had to ask more than once for water to be served. Bread was cold and they gave me an attitude when I asked for more after serving 6 dinner rolls for a table of 10. Owner was there and when I asked to speak with her, she was folding napkins and didn't bother to approach our table. When I asked for my check, they didn't even offer a complimentary coffee. I had to bring it up to the waitress attention and only then they gave us 15% off. Receipts for one of the cards was printed 4 times, and missing for the 2nd card we used. No class or manners. Misrepresenting cuban culture by having low class "balsero" looking refs running the place. SHAME on this restaurant and its owners for making our community believe that's how we Cubans are.

I've been here a few times with no complaints. Recently I sent my boyfriend to pick up food and he was greeted by rude and racist clerks. They treated him like crap and said NOTHING the entire time. Just gave him dirty looks. Yes, my boyfriend is African American. I Will NOT be returning to this establishment ever and will do everything in my power to make sure no one I know doesn't either

  • Rosemary S.

Bland is not synonymous with Cuban food, but somehow this place managed to do just that. Something as simple as yuca con mojo was bland. I never even knew that was possible considering that the mojo has garlic and onions. My husband was convinced that the cook was diabetic or catering to diabetic residents of Century Village. In all honesty I wish I could have gotten in a time machine and kept driving east on 183/186th St to La Catalana.

There was a time, about 2 years ago, when this place was always packed and the food, especially the churasco steak and fried yuca appetizer, was incredibly delicious. They didn't have a need to deliver food because business came to them. Fast forward to last month when I decided to have my Churasco steak with mashed potatoes delivered right to my door. What a mistake! The mashed potatoes definitely came from a box mixture, the churasco was thin and mostly fat, and the chimichurri sauce for the steak was made of dried herbs, olive oil, and garlic. There was no effort that was put into preparing the meal and my taste buds suffered the consequences. I give this place 1 year at most before they're history if they continue serving "lunchroom food" to there PAYING customers.

  • Fidel C.

This place is great, but terribly overpriced for the food and service because they truly are nothing out of this world. Other, better Cuban restaurants in the area by far. The potato sacks that line the roof also seem unsanitary as they have collected dust and can obviously fall onto a diner at any moment. Renovations needed.

    (2)
  • Cary M.

The food is good and they have live music. We had mar y Tierra or how they call it ciboney combination is a churrasco with lobster and shrimp. Me and my husband order to share and when I asked for an extra plate the waitress told us they would charge us $1.50 to bring an extra empty plate to the table. I think that is a very ridiculous way to rip off clients that should be a standard of customer service and satisfaction!

    (3)
  • Yami D.

The place looks decent when walk in, but the food doesn't have any flavor what so ever. I had the pan con bistec nothing out of this world and no seasoning, my dad and my aunt had half a chicken with Moro, malanga herbida and platanitos maduros. Honestly we think Pollo Tropical would have been a better choice.

This is the second time i order food and its always right and delicious. The price is pricey but if you want great food you gotta pay what you gotta pay for. I only order deliveries, and they always come in neatly packaged and all. The person delivering it is super kind and they know where they are headed all the time. My only complaint is the lady on the phone when you call. She's a little rude and tries to rush the order. That's my only little concern, but other than that. Great place to order great cuban food!

the food here is just your traditional Cuban food with an above excellent taste. I live in fort Lauderdale and drive to this area. Dining in is good! the restaurant is decorated very traditional and they also have live music. highly recommend this over any Latin cafeteria! Ordering take out is great and I think they have delivery. good to see a restaurant succeed at this location.

I went on a Sunday hoping to have one of my favorite Cuban dishes (Rabo Encendido) and was completely disappointed. The meat was tough and inedible. I remember when this place was Wajiro's a few years ago and it was great. They even managed to ruin breaded steak which should be a no brainier. I will never go back to this place. You're better off going to Latin America or Polo Norte a few blocks down if you want Cuban food.

Let me start by saying we ordered our food to go so my review might not be the fairest since I'm a firm believer that restaurant food just isn't nearly as good as it is when it comes straight out of the kitchen, on to your table, nice and hot vs being transported a couple miles in styrofoam containers to your home. That being said I will try to give the most accurate review based on my to go order. Service on the phone and once we picked up was pleasant. I ordered the vaca frita de pollo, white rice, black beans and a side of fried yuca. My husband ordered the croqueta preparada and a side of fries. The chicken was very tasty and flavorful. I'm guessing it would've been that much crispier had we eaten in the restaurant. Casa Larios is still my favorite for vaca frita de pollo but this will do seeing as it's way closer than South Miami for me. The rice and bean soup were just as good as any other Cuban restaurant in the area but not as watered down as some I've had. The fried yuca was disappointing as it was barely fried. I know it got soggier just on the drive home but it had just barely a toasty brown color to it and was quite soft. Disappointing to me since fried yuca should be crispy not soft. The garlic cilantro dipping sauce was a major disappointment. Not because it wasn't flavorful but because it tastes exactly the same as the sauce from Pollo Tropical. My husband reported his sandwich was just as good as any other out there and nothing really special. He was disappointed that the pork in his sandwich was sliced and not shredded. And his fries, despite being quite soggy from sitting in a paper bag on the ride home, were actually quite good! Overall this restaurant leaves the impression that it's lacking in originality. Not sure that it's worth the drive when we have several other just as good Cuban restaurants closer to home. We are willing to give it a second chance and will most likely dine in if we find ourselves on that side of town again. Overall it's worth a try but I suspect there isn't anything extraordinarily special about this place.

I've read such good reviews about this restaurant that my family and I must have gone to another Ciboney, I can't think of a cuban who knows good cuban food to say that this is a good restaurant, the only thing that was good was the service and I think that was because there was only another table been waited on I will never eat there again. But when someone said "Forgert about Versalle"s it tells me they don't know what a good cuban restaurant is You can take a chance and find out for yourselves By the way I'm talking about the one on SW 8st

Prices are good for lunch specials. I had the chicken steak, black beans and rice, and toast honest. All were very good. Person I was dining with had the pork with rice and beans, and the pork was very dry. Good value for the money average Cuban food if you happen to be here it's worth a lunch special.

My BF and I were babysitting at a friend's home and needed to order food. We saw the reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. We ordered and had it delivered. Ordered the masitas de puerco and masitas de pollo with sides of morro rice, white rice, maduros (plantains), caesar salad and fresh mango juices. Everything was delicious. The ETA for the delivery was right on point (45minutes on a Saturday evening). If we're ever in the Miami Lakes area, we'll definitely be dining here again!

We ordered take-out, but the thing that impressed me the most was how they provide crayons and an activity sheet for kids even at the bar. It definitely distracted my restless 3-year old cousin while we waited for the food. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out for me. In fact, the meat was kind of dry and I really missed the green sauce I had had the previous day from Pollo Tropical. Maybe I need to give it another chance, but it does seem pricey to be giving too many chances to.

  • Bobbi B.

Well first I must say that I LOVE the fact that they deliver. I've ordered with delivery only twice but those two times didn't disappoint. They let me know the time (25-35 minutes) and it was at my house within that time frame. Delivery is great for the days no one in my wants to cook but still wants Cuban food lol. I've honestly only had one thing from here and that's Bistec Empanizado (dk if I spelled that wrong or not?) and it's pretty good. The rice and beans as well. Salad is decent. I wish the meat wasn't so thin though. If it wasn't so thin, I'd order from there more often. In the actual restaurant, the service there is quick and everyone's friendly.

    (4)
  • Mary L.

This restaurant is THE worst place I have ever eaten. I had un bistec empanizado and it was bloody red. The rice and beans had absolutely no taste. The table and glasses were dirty. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night and I am guessing it was probably due to the bad odor and rude service. Our food was terrible, but the service was worse. Do yourselves a favor, if you are looking for good Cuban food, try Casavana.

My family and I get food delivered from Ciboney at least once a month. Many of their dishes taste exactly like my husband's abuela makes them at home. True, authentic Cuban cuisine which tastes delicious.

Good food but very bad customer service if you don't speak Spanish don't even think about calling to place an order for delivery or pick up the person that picks up the phone does not speak English at all and I have waited up to ten minutes on hold before I hung up the phone.

Great family Cuban restaurant! My 2 children live coming here during the karaoke night to hear the singing(OMG I DON'T, lol.) The servers are attentive and quick. Very cool ceiling decorations(old black bean sacks.) Food is typical Cuban cuisine that doesn't disappoint.

  • Melissa F.

Offical tissue cuban food. It's a laid back vibe with karaoke and the staff and fellow diners make you feel like your at a family party. The churrasco with rice and beans is amazing and the portions are hardy. My favorite dish is the fish ceviche for $8 (to-go orders are a bit more generous). I order from here about once a week and I have yet to be disappointed. As a local I consider this place a gem.

  • Jon G.

Ok so there's about a million Cuban restaurants in Miami but this one is pretty good, usually order for work and so far great even for delivery For the negatives the ladies who take the order sometimes don't speak English and aren't to friendly Other than that the food is amazing they have just about every typical Cuban food, so give it a try you won't be disappointed.

bad bad costumer service!!! i wanted to place an order & i waited on the phone for over 15 min until it hanged up on its own. i called back same thing repeated, either they need more staff or the need to teach cs skills dos & donts. unbelievable!!

This is the only Cuban restaurant that I've found that actually delivers to my house. That is a definite plus for me. When I'm in the mood for some Cuban food but am too lazy to go out or pick it up, this is my go to place. Their food is really tasty. The only reason I won't give them 5 stars is because their employees can be a little rude. The other day I was placing an order on the phone and as I was speaking the lady taking my order decided to start screaming to her friend that was leaving. It was extremely unprofessional and I was annoyed that she screamed in my ear. She could have put me on hold if it was so important to start having a conversation with her friend. If you don't know how to speak Spanish then I wouldn't suggest ordering over the phone.

Good food. Reasonably priced. I'd been looking for a Cuban restaurant that makes good tamal en casuela. It's a dish that I absolutely love when done right. Years ago, when I was in college there was this tiny little hole in the wall place called Armando y Cachita on W. 12th Ave. and 29th St. in Hialeah that made the best TEC. Since they closed down I've been searching for another place to get my fix, but all I'd found were a bunch places trying to pass off yellow grits and pork chunks for tamal en casuela - so not the same thing. Just this week my husband and I were way too tired to cook so we took out the stack of delivery/take out menus of restaurants near by and decided on Cuban food so we picked Ciboney. While scanning the menu I noticed they had TEC on there so I thought I'd give it a shot. Ciboney, hats off to your TEC! I can't believe I finally found a good tamal en casuela less the a mile from my house...SWEET!

One of the best Cuban restaurants I've been to. Their menu is impressive as they have many traditional Cuban dishes that you normally can't find in restaurants, such as Pure de malanga, Malanga frita, Boniato frito o hervido, Fufu de platano and they actually make it really good. I had the Vaca frita de pollo with moros y cristianos and tostones - and it was absolutely delish! Also ordered a side of Fufu de platano which was one of the best i've tasted. The plantain was mashed up with garlic, olive oil and chicharrones - Yummy! Also ordered a side of Pure de malanga, which was perfectly made - creamy but light with a hint of garlic and olive oil (definitely better that Versailles'). The meal came out steaming hot and fresh. It reminded me of one of my mother's homemade meals. I visited on a Saturday for lunch and keep thinking about going back. Apparently they also have live music on Fri&Sat's around 8pm. Excellent place.

I am obsessed with this place, it is very close to where I live. The location is great and in very central area. It is amazing Cuban cuisine and they even deliver. My family and I always order from there and they are pretty quick. If you also want to dine in and check it out, they have a live band playing and a Latin spice type of vibe while you enjoy your delicious meal.

Meh. Nothing special. Similar to every other Cuban restaurant in Miami. Food was average. I did like the decor inside though. Cool cuban themed paintings and the roof was made out of black bean sacks. LoL.
